It's a Jungle Out Here

One of the latest trends that I’ve seen on my news feed is animal print.

Honestly, I’m not the type to go for animal prints but I’m always down to try something new!

This snake print has been EVERYWHERE! I was a little hesitant on trying out this button-down since I’m not only plus sized but I have some tig ol bitties.... most button downs don’t work for me because of this reason. I happened to snatch this piece from Simply Be. I ended up going up two sizes since this item has absolutely stretch to it. It was pretty big everywhere except for the chest area .

So how do you style an over sized piece without looking like a house?

Tuck it in!

I paired it with this high waisted skirt I found from shein! The tan is a great pop of color even though it’s still a neutral piece. Of course I had to add a bougie flare and added my faux fur vest from Zara with some kitten heel booties from target.

Being an accessory queen, I needed a statement necklace that wouldn’t get lost in the look. I added this cute bib necklace from Simply Be and it was the perfect pop of color.

You’d probably catch me in this outfit going to a casual night event, or going out to brunch with some friends!

This next outfit gave me LIFE!

So I technically matched two animals prints but one was more subtle than the other.

Everyone loves a good leopard print with a bright red lip! I wanted to jazz up the leopard turtleneck by adding a grey blazer. I wanted this outfit to be a chic, edgy business wear outfit. The leather leggings from Nordstrom and my alligator black booties have the outfit the perfect amount of edge.

I have to say these faux alligator booties give me LIFE! They are probably one of my favorite items I bought for fall / winter so far. They are classy but have so much edge to them. I’m not a fan of studs, but because they are so small they work for me. You can easily pair them with any outfit.

Of course I had to throw some bling in there as well. This amazing statement piece is from Charlotte Russe.

And last but not least...

An outfit that has a slight hint of animal print.

Some people feel like animal print is just too much for them. Technically I'm that person.

You can easily rock animal print where it doesn't completely take away from the outfit. I paired this neutral color casual outfit with these snakeskin pumps from Banana Republic.

Pairing it with an olive jacket creates a slight contrast but doesn't outshine the rest of the outfit.

By the way, these distressed jeans are super comfortable. I purchased them from Simply Be as well... I swear they fit in all the right places, and hold me in. And the stretch on these jeans are EVERYTHING!!!

And of course I needed a chunky statement piece so I decided to go with this earthy statement necklace that I purchased from Simply Be as well.

I’m not always about following trends, but this is a trend I might have to continue to slay. What are your favorite animal prints to rock?

Thanks for reading!
